Job Description:
As a Nurse Practitioner in our hospitalist program, you will work collaboratively with our healthcare team to provide exceptional care to hospitalized patients. This role involves managing both acute and chronic conditions, performing assessments, ordering and interpreting tests, and working closely with attending physicians to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a hospital setting
- Perform comprehensive assessments and physical exams
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests and labs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create treatment plans
- Document patient information and update electronic health records
- Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnoses and treatments
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts
- Manage patient rounds and assist with discharge planning
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Texas
- Board certification in a relevant specialty (ACNP or FNP preferred)
- At least 1-2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in a hospitalist or acute care setting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- BLS/ACLS certification required
