Job Summary:
Requires moving, storing, delivering and marking tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, blocks and templates.
Job Responsibilities:
To issue, deliver, receive and store tools, dies, small jigs, fixtures, blocks and templates. Requires the ability to work from detailed instructions and use some judgment in movement of tools and work in tool crib.
- Receives issues, stores tools and maintains any required forms for tool transactions, to be entered into the computer.
- Print tickets; scan into and out of the computer.
- Moves tools to various departments and returns active, inactive and/or obsolete tools to storage and returns them to proper storage location.
- Operates and services tool moving equipment including forklift, tugs, scooters, and other vehicles to deliver and return tools.
- Locates lost or misplaced tools and identifies unmarked tools.
- Cleans, checks and prepares tools for storage.
- Marks or labels all products with necessary handling and delivery instructions.
- Relocate tools if necessary to maximize the space based on usage.
- Basic navigation of SAP for a variety of transactions.
- Escalate any discrepancies in shop procedures and tool location.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Education:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Requires basic computer skills and the use of simple arithmetic and measuring instruments. Must obtain and maintain any necessary training and licensing related to transportation or tool moving equipment as it relates to job functions. Moving equipment is defined as, but is not limited to; Fork-lift, Stock Chaser, Tug and Truck or Van, etc.
Experience:
Requires zero to one year of tool control and storage experience.
Working Conditions:
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise.
