Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the site’s building and production equipment is properly maintained and operating safely and efficiently. Duties include overseeing preventive maintenance programs, executing capital projects, and supporting production efficiency.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient production processes.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory of spare parts.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and implement improvements to equipment and processes.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize production disruptions.
- Oversee maintenance
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and measuring devices.
- Ability to safely use hand/shop tools.
- Ability to fabricate/weld.
- Ability to operate mobile equipment, such as forklifts.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and their practical application.
- Knowledge of OSHA and other regulatory compliance.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work additional hours as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years’ experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience with metal fabrication equipment (bend/break, slit, shear, roll-forming machines).
- Experience fabricating/welding.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as reach, climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.
- Must be able to operate power tools.
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50lbs.
