Job Summary:
The Yard Attendant is responsible for handling, sorting, organizing, and loading company products and received inventory. This position will support company contractors in loading materials for customer orders. The Yard Attendant will also participate in accurately maintaining inventory.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Stock and organize product inventory.
- Assist contractors in loading flatbed trucks with materials for customer orders, ensuring accurate product counts.
- Safely operate forklifts and other equipment to move materials and equipment around the yard.
- Receive shipments and stock/organize incoming raw materials.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to safely operate yard equipment, such as forklifts.
- Knowledge of safety procedures for handling chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
- Ability to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work additional hours as needed.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred.
Education and Experience:
- 1-2 years of previous experience in inventory management, warehouse or distribution centers.
- 1-2 years of operating a forklift.
- Basic computer skills; experience with inventory management systems is a plus.
- Experience in the metal building industry preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, or kneel regularly, as well as reach, climb stairs and ladders to complete tasks.
- Must be able to operate power tools.
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 50lbs.
