The summer Packaging Engineer internship is designed to give hands-on exposure to day-to-day operations and assist with projects and research that provide opportunity to support the growth of the organization and add positive impact. The Packaging Engineer Intern duties may include:
- Create innovative packaging designs that meet product requirements, ensuring functionality, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability.
- Conduct tests to ensure packaging can withstand various conditions such as transportation, storage, and temperature changes. Analyze test results to improve packaging designs.
- Work closely with product development, manufacturing, and marketing teams to understand packaging needs and ensure alignment with company standards.
- Research and select appropriate materials for packaging based on durability, cost, and environmental impact.
- Ensure all packaging designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of packaging designs, tests, and improvements. Prepare reports and presentations for management review.
- Stay up to date with the latest packaging trends and technologies. Incorporate new ideas to enhance packaging solutions.
- Must be in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, physics, or another related field. Ideally targeting graduation 2026.
- GPA of 3.5 or above
- Possess strong leadership, data analytics, organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills.
- Must be a critical thinker and problem solver.
- Self-directed, results-oriented and customer focused.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel etc.).
- Prefer 3D CAD or ERP experience – but not essential.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team, and independently.
