Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough biological monitoring programs for springs/seeps and threatened, endangered, and sensitive species surveys.
- Perform pre-construction surveys to determine the presence or absence of wildlife and vegetation.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations through construction or project monitoring.
- Care for captive desert tortoises in accordance with established protocols.
- Collect climate data and maintain weather station equipment for accurate analysis.
- Promote environmental awareness through effective outreach and education initiatives.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting results of data collection efforts.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in biology, botany, ecology, or closely related field with a minimum of six months related experience.
- Experience navigating and collecting data using GPS technology.
- A working knowledge of standard office computer software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to walk over long distances and across varied terrains, including uneven surfaces, for extended periods.
- Must be able to climb, jump, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
