Job Overview:
Teya Support Services, LLC is a leading provider of natural resource management services. We are seeking a skilled Biological Field Technician to support our multi-year engagement at Fort Irwin near Barstow, CA.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough biological monitoring programs for springs/seeps and threatened, endangered, and sensitive species surveys.
  • Perform pre-construction surveys to determine the presence or absence of wildlife and vegetation.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations through construction or project monitoring.
  • Care for captive desert tortoises in accordance with established protocols.
  • Collect climate data and maintain weather station equipment for accurate analysis.
  • Promote environmental awareness through effective outreach and education initiatives.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting results of data collection efforts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in biology, botany, ecology, or closely related field with a minimum of six months related experience.
  • Experience navigating and collecting data using GPS technology.
  • A working knowledge of standard office computer software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Work Environment:
  • Must be able to walk over long distances and across varied terrains, including uneven surfaces, for extended periods.
  • Must be able to climb, jump, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
