SUMMARY
This role is responsible for development of tooling and die for installation in or building of machines for use in production. They are responsible for collaborating with the Engineering, setup and Controls teams to ensure quality builds. They hold responsibility in conforming to and improvement of Tool Room standards and assisting with shop floor/ops needs. This role will start reporting to the setup group lead learning machine operation/troubleshooting, tooling Installation, tube fabrication techniques and general machine maintenance to better equip them for tooling fabrication while cross training in the tool room. The role expectation once fully transitioned to the tool room is to perform set-up and tool building/repair responsibilities as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Personnel Responsibilities
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication.
- Collaborate to problem-solve and take corrective action if necessary.
Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Continuous Improvement Responsibilities
- Ability to interpret blue prints and measuring devices.
- Responsible for planning and executing the sequence to build assigned project.
- Responsible for conformance to and improvement of Tool room standards.
- Responsible for performing preventative maintenance per agreed upon schedule.
- Run equipment after setup and repairs to verify process.
Safety Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing 5S housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations- ISO 14001/TS 16949.

SKILLS REQUIRED
- Excellent time management.
- Demonstrates ability to utilize tool building machinery.
- Demonstrates ability to use precision measuring and gaging instruments.

EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrates basic algebra knowledge.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Completion of program at skilled-trades school or 2 years equivalent experience in a machine shop.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Required to stand for extended periods of time.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
- Safety glasses and earplugs required in designated areas.
- Ability to grasp, feel, handle, bend at the waist.
