What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at TFP Nutrition?
JOB PURPOSE
The Production Supervisor reports directly to the Operations Manager. The supervisor is responsible for the daily activities in all production areas. These include but are not limited to, personnel safety, production output, training, quality, scheduling, staffing requirements, team development, inventory, production reporting, food safety, maintenance, and security.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
· Train personnel in all areas of the facility and in all job functions.
· Schedule production personnel.
· Schedule production activities.
· Responsible for housekeeping, GMP audits and sanitation of their area of responsibility.
· Perform all administrative duties associated with production reporting.
· Coordinate with the maintenance department on repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize production downtime and increase reliability.
· Communicate production issues to the Operations Manager and Plant Manager.
· Order supplies as required.
· Work with Warehouse Manager and team to maintain production output to the warehouse with acceptable pallet configuration to meet customer requirements.
· Assist with further development and implementation of our Food Safety and HACCP Programs including becoming certified in HACCP.
· Implement and enforce company policies and procedures particularly with regard to employee safety and PPE.
· Assist with inventory and cycle counts.
· Provide leadership to production personnel (packaging, extrusion, batching) and
manage shift issues by area and work to resolve all issues. Follow up with results to employees and management, provide training where needed and provide verifiable results.
· Manage shift turnover communication and production reporting.
· Conduct daily shift manager tours focused on Safety, Quality, Service and Efficiency by engaging each employee throughout the shift.
· Assist in development of objectives for each employee with a Personal Development Plan for each employee relative to their personal goals.
· Ensure all incoming employees (Internal and External) have proper training and tools to perform their job.

· Ensure each employee understands and receives feedback on what is expected of them regularly.
· Use Continuous Improvement tools (5 why/fishbone/Root Cause Analysis, etc.), to help steer team toward solutions to issues and cost saving(s) efficiency initiatives within your team.
· Work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor, Customer Service, Purchasing, Pest Control Operator, and Maintenance.
· Any task as delegated by Manager or dotted line Manager.
· Any other duties as assigned.

· Work competently utilizing Outlook email and calendars.
· Must be competent utilizing Word, Excel and Power Point.
· Possesses specific knowledge of company’s range of products and services.
· Demonstrate strong organizational skills.

Educational Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees in this position must be able to work under the following conditions:
· Dusty conditions that may require respirator’s, eye protection and noisy conditions that may require hearing protection.
· Production environment is not climate controlled, and employee is subject to ambient temperatures and their extremes.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
