Summary
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for creating, overseeing, optimizing, and executing supply chain strategies and processes that support operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance within the oil and gas sector. This role ensures the timely procurement, transportation, and management of equipment, materials, and services essential for all development and production operation activities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chain management within the oil and gas industry, including expertise in logistics, vendor management, inventory management, compliance, and risk mitigation. The Supply Chain Manager will support operations team to deliver results aligned with the Company’s objectives.
Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement end-to-end supply chain strategies in coordination with production, development, engineering and operational teams that are aligned with the company’s operational and financial objectives.
- Collaborate with production, development, engineering and operational teams to forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and optimize procurement processes for equipment, materials, and services.
Procurement and Vendor Management
- Negotiate and manage Master Service Agreements with suppliers and vendors. Responsible for developing, maintaining, communicating an approved vendor list that adheres to company financial and HSE policies.
- Oversee procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts with suppliers and service providers, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Initiate key processes including: materials & equipment requisition, expediting and material tracking.
Logistics and Transportation Management
- Manage logistics and transportation of equipment and materials to ensure timely delivery and cost-efficiency across organization.
- Oversee material transfer process including import/export activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, including customs and trade compliance.
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies without excess or waste, minimizing inventory costs while ensuring availability for operational needs.
- Establish field warehouse controls including equipment and parts locations and identification.
- Responsible for controls & management of any equipment not in service, all including if not in physical field locations.
Financial and Performance Management
- Develop and manage the supply chain process including analyzing spending and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, efficiency or schedule.
- Responsible to maximize the leverage available to reduce costs and increase quality wherever possible.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supply chain effectiveness and vendor performance. Responsible to deliver adequate management reporting to allow transparency in spend, costs, and vendor business awarding.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead initiatives to continuously improve supply chain processes, identifying areas for operational efficiency, cost reduction, and improved service quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices, applying innovative approaches to enhance supply chain capabilities.

- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the oil and gas supply chain, including logistics, procurement, and vendor management in high-risk environments.

- Project Management: Skilled at managing multiple diverse priorities and projects simultaneously while managing timelines, coordinating resources, and meeting deadlines. Solid organizational skills required to manage documentation plus internal and external communication.
- Leadership and Team Management: Proven experience in managing and developing a team, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related engineering field
- Minimum 7 years of Oil and Gas Industry experience on Operator side
- At least 3 years Supply Chain Management experience in Oil and Gas industry.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
• The Drilling Operations Manager position is classified as light physical work in an office setting involving sitting, with intermittent periods of stooping, walking and standing.
• Occasionally may be required to lift, carry, push or pull 10-25 pounds.
