Our client is seeking a skilled Assistant Controller with expertise in property management accounting. This is an onsite role, full-time and direct hire. (can move to hybrid possibly after a few months)

The candidate will manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting for a diverse property portfolio, collaborating with property managers, finance teams, and leadership to ensure financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Oversee preparation of financial statements, ensuring GAAP compliance.
- Review journal entries, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow.
Property Management Accounting:
- Manage rent rolls, lease admin, expenses, and property taxes.
- Track income and expenses, review budgets, and reconcile security deposits.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead budgeting and cash flow projections, providing performance analysis and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Internal Controls & Audits:
- Develop internal controls for financial integrity and compliance.
- Assist with audits and reporting.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Supervise and mentor staff.
- Collaborate with teams for timely and accurate financial reporting.
Cash Management & Treasury:
- Oversee cash flow, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or related field.
- 5-7 years in real estate accounting, 3 years in property management.
- Proficient in property management software and Excel.
- Strong GAAP knowledge and financial analysis skills.
- Leadership experience and excellent communication skills.
- CPA/CMA preferred.
Salary: $85K-$100K with bonus potential, paid vacation and holidays. Medical insurance stipend
