What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Sales Manager position at TGG Accounting?
Our manufacturing client in the pipe industry is looking for an Assistant Sales Manager to join their busy and growing team in Corona, CA. This is a full-time, long-term position that is onsite as well as involves travel.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively achieve daily and monthly targets through self-motivation.
- Drive customer acquisition to boost sales growth.
- Manage time effectively by scheduling appointments within your territory to maximize wins.
- Collaborate with team members while adhering to the company's Core Values.
- Maintain daily communication with the Customer Service department.
- Identify and analyze market trends that could impact product specifications, pricing, and delivery.
- Oversee assigned sales territories and regions.
- Focus on growing sales and establishing relationships with Large Mechanical Contractors, increasing both sales and new supplier partnerships.
- Meet short- and long-term sales objectives while tracking regional sales performance.
- Foster sales growth and profitability across states within the region.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of local competitors in each state to better understand their strategies.
- Collaborate with management and cross-functional departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
General Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree required.
- 5-7 years of sales experience, preferably in Plastic Fittings or the Plumbing, Irrigation, or related industries.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, both in-person and over the phone.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned region to promote the company brand, acquire new customers, assess their needs, build sustainable business plans, negotiate terms in line with company policies, and close sales.
- Occasional overnight travel (1-2 nights per week) may be required.
- Consistently maintain contact and follow up with both current and prospective customers.
- Demonstrate tactful negotiation skills and excellent customer service to close deals and establish new business accounts.
- An existing customer base is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience managing manufacturer representatives within a territory is beneficial.
- Knowledge of products in the Plumbing, Irrigation, and Waterworks industries.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Salary is base commission, total comp could be $90K-$100K. Plus full benefits (100% premiums paid by employer for medical, dental and vision), also paid vacation and sick days, car allowance and cell phone stipend.
