Our distribution client in Centerville, Indiana is looking for an HR Assistant to join their growing company. This is a full-time position, onsite and long-term.
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Support HR team while working in a distribution environment
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll, policies, and other HR matters.
- Assist with new hire processes, including background checks, drug tests, and orientation.
- Develop job descriptions and actively participate in recruiting and filtering job applicants.
- Participate in disciplinary meetings, investigations, terminations, and other employee relations activities.
- Contribute to policy creation and ensure knowledge around short-term disability, compensation, FMLA, medical leave, and other HR policies.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of HR Generalist experience.
- Knowledge of HR best practices, including job postings, short-term disability policies, policy creation, benefits administration, and state and local laws.
- Proficient in MS suite and exposure to payroll software
- Experience working in industries like manufacturing, construction, or with an hourly workforce.
Salary is $55K-$60K, with bonus program, generous benefits, 401k, PTO and paid sick time
