The Vice President of Business Development, Sales & Marketing will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's growth strategy, overseeing all aspects of sales and marketing, and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep expertise in gear manufacturing and an ability to inspire teams, troubleshoot technical challenges, and expand the companies presence in critical markets like oil and gas.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Strategy :
Lead and refine the company’s sales cycle and methodologies.
Research, develop, and execute strategies for new marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and project development.
Identify and develop new customer bases for the companies products and services.
Sales Management :
Analyze and evaluate sales methodologies, costs, and results.
Directly manage major client accounts while coordinating overall account management strategies.
Motivate and support external sales representatives to ensure optimal performance.
Marketing Leadership :
Oversee the development and execution of marketing initiatives, sales materials, and promotional programs.
Represent the company at community and business events to build the company’s brand presence.
Operational & Budget Oversight :
Develop and manage sales and marketing budgets.
Supervise the preparation and delivery of sales proposals and exhibits.
Participate in the development of new project proposals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Work closely with internal teams, including customer service and estimators, to ensure alignment on business goals.
Support production teams with technical expertise, particularly in troubleshooting gear manufacturing challenges.
Qualifications
Required Experience :
Minimum 7 years of experience in sales management.
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in estimating and quoting in the gear manufacturing industry.
Expertise in troubleshooting and understanding technical gear manufacturing processes.
Proven experience selling to top oil and gas companies.
Leadership Skills :
Strong ability to motivate and support both internal and external teams.
Strategic thinker with the ability to set and achieve sales team goals.
Willingness to roll up your sleeves and collaborate directly with team members.
Travel Requirements :
Comfortable with traveling approximately 50% of the time, primarily to Texas.
