What you will do in this role:
- Uses knowledge of different faiths to meet various religious beliefs/needs, lead prayers, and answer spiritual questions.
- Actively provides delivery of spiritual support and guidance to patients/families.
- Protects patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
- Acts as a liaison between the hospital and community.
- Keeps records of pastoral/spiritual activities to communicate with other members of the department and administration as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in religion, divinity, or theology; Master’s degree preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience as a clergy or chaplain.
- Experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
- License: Valid driver’s license.
- CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment. May be required to work flexible hours.
