About the job
As a Cyber Security Intern working in our Enterprise IT department at our Houston Headquarters, you will have the opportunity to work in various areas depending on your background and interests. You may be involved in Governance, managing and developing a certified ISO 27001 Information Security Management System and IEC 62443 Vessel Notation across both IT and OT environments. In Threat Intelligence, you will monitor open sources and partner feeds to compile regular threat assessments for our onshore and offshore operations. Additionally, you could work in Risk Management, identifying, documenting, assessing, and managing Information Security risks, or in Compliance, where you will identify, document, and manage regulatory and customer requirements. Your role may also include Training and Awareness, developing and executing training programs, exercises, and simulations to enhance the organization's security posture. In Cyber Security Audits, you will audit onshore and offshore key service owners to ensure compliance with security standards. Network Security will involve managing and improving firewall architecture and configuration, while Endpoint Security focuses on managing and improving security for servers and clients. In Cloud Security, you will develop and manage security solutions for Cloud-based operations. Incident Management will have you managing ticket queues and alerts from XDR (Detection & Response) solutions and collaborating with Security Operations Center / Incident Response partners.
Throughout your internship, you will collaborate closely with our Cyber Security Department, which has experienced resources in all these fields. You will also work with other parts of the organization, such as Infrastructure, Architecture, Vessel Support, Procurement, Legal, HR, Operations, Compliance, and Contract departments. Additionally, you may be involved in Project Management, driving improvement projects such as certifying new parts of the organization, standardizing tool use or software development processes, or gaining Cyber Security notation for new vessels. This collaborative environment will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of cyber security practices and the opportunity to contribute to the organization's overall security strategy.
