As a Geoscience AI/ML Researcher Intern working for the Data Management Services (DMS) department at our Houston Headquarters location, you will play a crucial role in identifying and developing new AI and Generative AI (GenAI) opportunities based on the world's largest collection of geophysical data products. You will collaborate closely with our experienced data management team and data science to explore innovative AI applications and examine how they can be scaled to our extensive seismic and geological datasets:

Minimum Requirements Include
- Enrolled in a graduate program in Geophysics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a closely related field or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of seismic imaging and processing techniques.
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts and methodologies (guidance will be provided).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Hugging Face).
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of geophysical data management and interpretation software.
- Strong mathematical foundation in computational methods and algorithms.
- Students will participate in engaging activities and collaborate closely with a dedicated Mentor and Buddy for guidance and support throughout the program.
- The program spans 12–14 weeks during the summer months, offering flexibility within that range.
- The majority of opportunities are based at one of our three locations: Houston, TX; Missouri City, TX; or the North Houston Data Center. Limited positions may be available at our global sites, including Oslo, Norway, and Weybridge, United Kingdom. Students interested in U.S.-based positions must be prepared to relocate independently to the Houston, TX area for the duration of the internship.
