TH Daniels Global Executive Search & Selection have partnered with a global Chemical Company to recruit a Technical Director for the Industrial Coatings Business Unit.
This is a critical position within the business and reports into the Business Unit Vice President. The role is onsite based in Houston. The successful candidate has the dynamic spirit and vision necessary to foster innovation of new products and drive success of a high performing, high energy technical team.
To be considered for the role you must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above required in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related area.
- Minimum 8 years coatings development and in support of a production facility.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven success in laboratory and people management.
- Preferred – Development, manufacturing and application experience with a wide variety of coating technologies.
Key Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute sales plans (short, mid, long term) in line with our overall strategy to maintain and develop existing as well as acquire new customers.
- Visiting customers (digitally or physically) to solve problems with our value-added solutions, offering a proactive and consultative approach to exploring needs and finding innovative solutions for customers with the support of our technical team.
- Execute customer roadmaps and assist in the development of a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers and distributors.
- Works with marketing, sales, and product development teams to implement business development initiatives.
- Gathers and reports significant developments within accounts, prospects competitors, and the general marker for use by company management in research, analysis and planning purposes.
