Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Demand Planner to join our team in the food manufacturing industry. In this role, you will be responsible for forecasting product demand, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet customer demands. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, an understanding of the food and beverage supply chain, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Essential Duties and Requirements:
- S&OP: assist in standing up and ongoing optimization of a full S&OP process for the company.
- Demand Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, statistical models, market trends, and input from sales, marketing, and other relevant departments.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply while minimizing excess stock. Work closely with the supply chain team to optimize stock turnover.
- Collaboration: Work with Sales, Marketing, Production, and Logistics teams to align on demand projections and ensure product availability.
- Order Management: Analyze customer orders and sales patterns to anticipate future needs and ensure timely product availability.
- Data Analysis: Use forecasting software, spreadsheets, and other tools to analyze sales data and generate actionable insights for decision-making.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Identify areas for improvement in the demand planning process and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Risk Management: Address potential supply chain risks such as stockouts or overstocking by implementing proactive strategies and contingency plans.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and supply chain performance to senior management.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in demand planning software (e.g., Gainsystems, JGalt, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with forecasting models and tools is a plus.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to handle unpredictable supply chain challenges.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all forecasting and planning tasks.

This role has no direct reports.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced certification in demand planning or inventory management is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in demand planning, preferably in the food and beverage industry or a related field.
- Experience in the food and beverage industry, specifically in demand planning or supply chain roles preferred
- Knowledge of seasonal demand fluctuations and product lifecycle management in the food and beverage sector preferred
- Familiarity with forecasting and demand planning best practices in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment preferred.
