What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Improvement Specialist position at Thai Summit America Corp.?
Primary Job Function:
Support the TSAC Press Department by planning, coordinating, training and directing Autobuild activities. Coordinate and direct incoming off load of Tool & Die equipment for department. Support continuous improvement efforts within the department to increase job efficiencies. Recognize when other areas of the department need assistance to keep pace and step in to achieve those goals. Accomplish any and all assignments as directed by Management.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Plan and direct autobuild activities within Press department
- Knowledge and ability to train on coordination of incoming off load of dies
- Ability to maintain and train on the autobuild of supplies inventory
- Press Process training. Train and instill best practices within the press teams
- Improving Efficiency of press: evaluate press processes as it relates to each line/job etc.
- Improving/instilling customer quality requirements to the Press teams.
- Training instilling QDC practices to help achieve Die change performance targets
- Instill basic press area TPM practices
- Train on automation fabrication methodology and past practices.
- Improve Efficiencies on production jobs
- Execute department initiatives such as QS9000, ISO 14001, Thai Summit Production System, TPM, etc. in areas of accountability
- Drive the improvement of safety, quality, housekeeping, teamwork improvement activities, attendance, and administrative procedures.
- Identify and eliminate waste with continuous evaluation of the Autobuild process.
- Communicate with all departments in establishing areas of responsibility and to share timely, accurate, cost effective information.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically press/stamping department processes
- 5 years’ Welding experience with a focus on MIG Welding
- 5 years’ Forklift driving experience
- Metal Finish repair experience
- Proficient computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
- General knowledge of quality systems.
- Ability to train others effectively and efficiently
- Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers
- Ability prioritize tasks without supervision
- Ability to work flexible hours/shifts to accommodate departmental needs
