Software Engineer
Melbourne, FL (Hybrid)
Position Summary
Thales is looking for a Software Engineer to join our In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) Engineering Team to help develop our next generation of IFEC product suite. This position requires you to be responsible for the complete life cycle of new or modified software products including research & design, implementation, training, and support. To be successful, the candidate should have knowledge of AGILE/SCRUM software development methodology, object-oriented programming concepts, and full software development life cycles.
In this position, you will also be accountable for your commitment (both technically and behaviorally), be able to cooperate effectively, and be adaptive in working with different stakeholders.

Special Position Requirements
The anticipated TTC range for this role is $81,230.25 - $141,698.00 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.

Software Engineer

Position Summary

Key Areas of Responsibility
- Development of software products by writing, testing, and documenting code.
- Responsible for providing technical documentation for system, features, and components.
- Responsible for providing thorough unit testing and automated testing to ensure a quality product is delivered.
- Expected to improve, enhance, and support existing operations.
- Designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting production deployments.
- Implement and maintain security and data privacy best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related study.
- Knowledge in development with Java, or similar object-oriented languages; Knowledge in development with web frameworks (Angular, React); Knowledge of responsive web design principles and SPA.
- Must be able to: demonstrate innovation in problem solving, have clear communication with team members and product owners, follow and support agile methodologies and practices by actively participating in all SCRUM ceremonies.
- Must: adhere to and develop best practices in software engineering; be able to interact with individuals to solidify understanding of requirements and expectations.
Special Position Requirements
- Schedule: Core Business Hours Monday-Friday and will occasionally involve working some Saturdays and Sundays.
- Physical Environment: Typical office environment.
- Regulatory Compliance Requirements: Pre-employment drug screening.
