Thalle Construction Co. Inc. (“Thalle”) is seeking a construction Carpenter. The Carpenter will report to the Superintendent and work closely with and support the operations team. Interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

This position is located in BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA.

Job Title: Carpenter

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Concrete Placement: Ability to accurately place concrete in various forms and structures.
• Concrete Finishing: Expertise in finishing concrete surfaces to meet project specifications and aesthetic requirements.
• Concrete Reinforcing Installation: Experience in installing reinforcing materials to strengthen concrete structures.

Installs, modifies, repairs, rebuilds, inspects, constructs, and maintains concrete and other related structures. Ensures requirements and specifications are met.

• Follow established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Verify trueness of structure using required tools.
• Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power tools.
• Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
• Remove damaged / defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace using hand tools.
• Install structures and fixtures using carpenter’s hand and power tools.
• Select and order required materials.
• Maintain records, documentation, and present written progress reports.
• Inspect structures for damage.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to perform sustained and vigorous activities in a variety of environmental conditions.
• Exposure to dust, dirt, grease, and construction materials.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
