Payroll Administrator
Office Location: IN OFFICE POSITION located in Hillsborough, NC
Pay Rate: $65,000-$70,000 for qualifying experience
Thalle Construction Co. Inc. (“Thalle”) is seeking a Payroll Administrator. We are looking for an easy-going team player interested in joining a tightknit team that works closely together in performing Payroll Administator functions for a locally based construction company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the accurate processing and management of weekly corporate payroll, assisting the payroll manager with filing systems, and complete other duties as directed by the payroll manager and controller.
• Assist with Process weekly payroll for entire company. This includes data entry and verification of employee time in internal accounts payable system, importing and verifying remote-time files, verifying exports, reviewing processed files for accuracy and making necessary corrections, and processing/posting employee payroll checks.
• Ensure the accuracy payroll every week.
• Provide certified payroll reports and union benefits reports.
• Record employer and employee weekly amounts into accounts payables system for payroll taxes and garnishments.
• Process federal, state and local tax payments on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
• Sort payroll for weekly delivery to job sites.
• Enter employee information into Viewpoint. Appropriately maintain all confidential personnel files.
• Ensure that employee status changes are updated and entered on a timely basis. Such changes include transfers and location moves, address/contact information, pay rates, insurance deductions and other benefits, garnishment/taxes, direct deposits, etc.
• Update and maintain accurate data on employee Paid Time Off eligibility, accrual, banking, use and balances.
• Process weekly EFT payroll files for direct deposit.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent work experience preferred
• 1-3 years’ experience with Viewpoint or other payroll processing software.
• 1 years’ experience with weekly payroll processing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Incumbent processes and ensures the accuracy of a $80 million payroll system. Payroll errors are highly visible and can affect employee morale, employee pay and Thalle financials. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of payroll every week.

Physical Requirements:
