Summer Camp Guide Job Description
Wage: $13/hour
Shift: Seasonal, up to 40 hours/week, M-F

Summary:
Come join our amazing Learning and Engagement team! As a Summer Camp Guide, you will be an educator and leader for a variety of Thanksgiving Point’s wonderful Summer Camp programs. We engage with kids daily, cultivating curiosity and guiding individuals through a transformative learning experience. You will be supporting and engaging with groups of up to 16 campers, ages 4 to 12, in varied STEM topics and themes.
Responsibilities:
Participate in, prepare for, and lead educational Summer Camps with your team members for kids of varied ages and backgrounds.
Guide program participants in activities to help build confidence, curiosity and compassion.
Help enforce classroom management best practices within often noisy or energetic settings.
Model and foster curiosity and inquiry learning skills, like questioning, exploring, testing, refining, and explaining in all interactions with guests.
Patiently and kindly work with large groups of kids, adhering to Thanksgiving Point standards of guest interaction and safety, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment for all.
Collaborate with other Learning and Engagement staff to develop, evaluate, educate, and refine facilitated and unfacilitated learning experiences.
Teach and lead activities focusing on varied STEM topics, helping with safe and appropriate uses with materials and company equipment.

Requirements:
Experience teaching or facilitating in formal or informal learning environments.
Ability to work in a highly collaborative workplace, to give and receive constructive feedback, work patiently in high-activity, high-energy, noisy environments.
Experience working with learners of different ages and abilities is preferred.
Physical ability to climb stairs, bend, stand for extended periods, and manipulate small objects.
Capability to work around and with animals, insects, and in outdoor settings
Able to work independently and responsibly
Have exceptional time management skills, able to be punctual and utilize time efficiently
Valid Utah Driver’s License preferred
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must pass a background check and MVR.
