We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction and Pre-Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects, including schools, municipal buildings, higher education facilities and multi-family projects. The Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in project planning and budgeting, ensuring that projects are completed within financial constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare conceptual and detailed cost estimates for construction projects
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope of work
- Conduct site visits to gather information and assess project conditions
- Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimates
- Review and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers
- Maintain a database of costs for labor, materials, and equipment
- Provide recommendations on cost-saving measures and value engineering options
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and project budgets
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in construction costs.
- Create new and maintain/enhance relationships with Subcontractors.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on conceptual budgeting and pre-construction services
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator with commercial construction, multi-family, industrial, institutional, and both private and public projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, vendors and internal teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and communicate effectively
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Understanding of project management principles and practices.
