POSITION SUMMARY:
The front desk attendant is the first person a member will encounter when entering the Wellness Center. The attendant must have a friendly, professional, outgoing personality, be cooperative, and enjoy social interaction. Attendant must exhibit enthusiasm for the Wellness Center and for the job, and be a patient and courteous listener whether by phone or in person while upholding the wellness center’s operating standards in a professional manner at all times.
SHIFT: PRN (as needed), Days, Saturday rotation , Non-Exempt SUPERVISION: Wellness Center Director
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic computer skills and telephone etiquette
- Detail oriented and strong multi-tasking skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Reliable, responsible, and mature
- Self-motivated, takes initiative, and is able to work without supervision
- Dedicated to working as a team player and maintaining a positive attitude
- CPR and first aid certification, preferred
- High school education and GED preferred
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Open and close Wellness Center as needed.
- Reports any incident or accident to Wellness Center Director.
- Responsible for membership sign-up and checking in members with verification processes along with tours of the Wellness Center.
- Becomes knowledgeable about the Wellness Center and its amenities in order to effectively communicate with members and/or guests.
- Helps ensure Wellness Center is only accessed by actual members and/or guests, and that it is safe and secure at all times.
- Greets each and every guest with a smile and direct eye contact, always upholding great customer service. Ability to work under pressure, and solve problems in a professional manner.
- Uses time efficiently throughout shift by checking equipment, locker rooms, inventory, etc.
- Ensures proper coverage when it’s necessary to leave the area.
- Informs co-worker(s) of pertinent information at the end of the shift.
- Informs Wellness Center Director of any member, guest, or Wellness Center issues.
- Enrolls members and guests in programs.
- Assists staff with lifting and storing Wellness Center equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain Wellness Center and prepare for special events.
- Assists Wellness Center Director with tracking employee visits and other wellness challenges upon request.
- Cleans fitness center equipment on a scheduled basis, as well as other general wellness center facility cleaning as necessary.
- All other tasks as assigned.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
- Maintains and promotes good health practices.
- Will conform to TCHS policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA.
- Understand and comply with the requirements of Thayer County Health Services’ Compliance Program, including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Manual. All supporting policies for compliance and compliance plans.
- Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by organizational policy and as requested by supervisor.
- Demonstrates formal greetings with patients, visitor and TCHS staff.
- Willingly accepts new responsibilities and cooperates with implementation of change.
- Dresses in neat, clean professional attire according to Dress Policy; maintains high personal hygiene standards.
- Demonstrates respect, integrity, compassion, and excellence through a “We Care” philosophy with all patients, visitors, and TCHS staff.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Subject to frequent interruptions and time constraints.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately for the requirements of position to be fully met.
