Inside Sales Associate and Order Processing Specialist
Thayer Medical designs, manufactures, and sells medical devices used in respiratory care for both hospitalized and at-home patients. All Thayer’s products are medical devices cleared for sales by the US FDA and similar governmental bodies in other countries. Tucson-based Thayer successfully competes in the complex global markets for these regulated medical devices.
We are seeking a team member to work in a high-impact customer interface position combining the roles of inside sales and customer support. This role requires the team member acquire a sophisticated understanding of Thayer’s respiratory products and the clinical settings where they are used.
The Order Processing Specialist first assures that communication from our customers is promptly, courteously, and accurately addressed and their product needs are fulfilled. This process starts by receiving product orders from our customers, accurately answering related questions or identifying the need to seek clarification from the customers. These customer orders are then turned into shipments by verifying contract terms and then entering the orders in our financial system. Shipping documentation is then prepared for customers, which includes both domestic and international.
The Inside Sales Associate builds on this existing daily customer contact to identify opportunities to increase sales. This could include helping the customer identify more economical purchasing volume, suggesting complementary products to customer’s purchases, or identifying a group of customers that could be targeted for a marketing program. Based on observed customer needs the Inside Sales Associate will implement outreach sales programs to better explain Thayer’s products to groups of customers who have similar clinical needs.

The scope of responsibilities for this position can be adjusted for those with significant relevant sales/medical experience.
The position requires:
· Bachelor’s Degree OR 5 years of related sales/marketing experience
· a high level of competence with information technology
· effective written/verbal communications
· an ability to understand contractual relationships
Additional skills that would be valuable in this position
· knowledge of respiratory products and their clinical applications including RN or RT
· experience with a company participating in the supply chain for medical devices
· an ability to analyze data and discern trends
