About The Role
Are you a seasoned operations leader with a deep understanding of the cannabis industry? THC Design is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee our California and Nevada operations. You’ll drive daily operations, improve efficiency, and lead teams in production, packaging, and distribution. If you’re experienced in managing multi-state cannabis operations and have a passion for building efficient, compliant businesses, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do:
- Lead operations across California and Nevada, setting strategic goals
- Ensure smooth daily business activities and improve processes
- Provide leadership and support to production, packaging, and distribution teams
- Oversee procurement, resource allocation, and customer support
- Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and compliance with cannabis regulations

- Proven experience in a senior operations role, ideally in the cannabis industry
- Expertise in managing multi-state operations and cannabis compliance
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of supply chain, finance, customer service, and performance metrics
- Ability to travel up to 40% initially, then 20% as needed

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Strategy: Make strategic decisions for operational activities and set long-term goals that align with company objectives.
- Daily Operations: Plan and monitor the day-to-day business operations, ensuring smooth workflows and efficient processes across multiple locations.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and provide constructive feedback to teams in Production, Packaging (Flower and Pre-rolls), and Distribution.
- Process Improvement: Regularly evaluate operational procedures and identify opportunities for improvement to meet organizational goals.
- Procurement and Resource Management: Oversee procurement processes, coordinating the allocation of materials and resources to optimize production.
- Customer Support: Lead and organize customer support operations, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Financial Management: Review financial information, adjust operational budgets as needed, and implement strategies to promote profitability.
- Policy Development: Revise and formulate company policies, promoting their successful implementation across the organization.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring smooth collaboration.
- Performance Evaluation: Gather, analyze, and interpret operational data and metrics to evaluate overall performance and implement data-driven improvements.
- Compliance: Ensure that the company complies with all legal regulations, particularly cannabis industry rules and best practices in California and Nevada.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Director of Operations or similar senior leadership role, with expertise in multi-state operations.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication abilities to inspire and manage teams.
- Cannabis Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of cannabis industry regulations, compliance, and best practices.
- Business Acumen: Strong knowledge of business functions such as supply chain management, finance, and customer service.
- Analytical Skills: Experience working with data analysis and performance metrics to drive business improvements.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with MS Office, ERP, CRM, and other business software.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 40% in the initial months, reducing to 20% based on operational needs.
