What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Engineer position at The Aagard Group?
Primary Responsibilities:
- Write, implement and test code to control machine motion per requirements
- Problem solving and solution recommendation
- Provide engineering support to customers
- Support the testing and installation of equipment
- Provide training for internal and external customers
- Provide feedback and support on Aagard’s process and standards for continuous improvement
- Provide support to the manufacturing floor and Customer Technical Service department
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Aagard’s standards
- Follow safe work practices
- Recommend and implement best practices to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Communicate openly, share knowledge, build positive collaboration between departments and team members
- Support and contribute to department and company metrics
- Be actively engaged in continuous improvement projects and culture
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
- Knowledge of programming practices
- Knowledge of motion and timing
- Knowledge of mechanical, controls, and electrical systems
- Ability to read electrical prints
- Knowledge of electronic components
- Experience or training with PC’s, servos, and PLC’s
- Previous experience with Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley products preferred
- Previous experience with Beckhoff controls software a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
