What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder (Day Shift) position at The Aagard Group?
Key Obsessions:
- Welding Precision and Quality
Perform MIG and/or TIG welding, cutting, grinding, and finishing tasks to meet engineering specifications.
Ensure weldments are properly oriented to design specifications before performing welding procedures
Maintain consistent quality standards by following established processes and verifying finished work.
- Welding Operations
Efficiently handle and move materials or parts using forklifts or other approved methods.
Accurately record data in the ERP system to capture part movement and associated costs.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to completing parts on time, supporting project success and exceeding customer expectations.
- Continuous Improvement
Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and report any issues promptly.
Assist in the training and development of other team members to enhance overall team capability.
Identify and recommend updated manufacturing methods to increase productivity and reduce costs, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent, Welding education/certificate and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
MIG and/or TIG welding experience required.
Ability to read and understand the proper use of measuring instruments, CAD drawings, and blueprints.
Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift safely.
Valid driver’s license required.
Experience or training with computers and ability to learn and use Aagard specific software.
Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters.
Ability to walk or stand up to 100 percent of the time.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb.
