JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. BASIC FUNCTION: Guest Service Attendants are responsible for the transportation of guests and assisting with guest needs, especially luggage and valet. Being the first impression, Guest Service Attendants set the mood and tone for guest stays and will often answer questions or perform tasks as directed by the front desk staff. GSA’s also assist in the transportation of our Exchange Visitors.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
Must have current Driver License in good standing.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Meet governmental requirements for operation of motor vehicles for the transportation of passengers.
Ability to transport, handle and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs. (Note: Loading and unloading luggage out of vans, busses, etc., and delivery to and from guest rooms).
Must be able to stand and work a full shift standing and walking back and forth to the valet lot and different areas of the hotel.
High school diploma or equivalent experience/training.
At least one year in a customer service role with high guest interaction
Hospitality industry experience preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate in the English language.
Do not have any recent/outstanding legal issues relating to DUI/OWI or theft.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide exceptional customer service by being engaging and taking sincere interest.
Interacts with all guests. The Guest Services Attendant will welcome each guest to our hotel.
If guests are arriving by motor vehicle, you will open their door as you welcome them to the resort/hotel.
Valet vehicles for overnight guests as well as event attendees and monitor the valet parking lot and boat trailer section.
Guide guests who will be self-parking
Responsible for driving shuttle van on assigned runs in a safe and efficient manner.
You will be escorting and orienting the guest to the front desk for check-in.
Upon check-in, you will escort the guests and their luggage to their room. As you do so, you will be explaining our amenities and fun facts they should know about our hotel.
You will be working together with other attendants to ensure each guest has a personalized experience and will not hesitate to step in and open the door for all guests.
Assist lobby attendant in keeping entrance area clean and organized.
"Be the difference" with all guest and employees to make memorable experiences during their time here.
Room deliveries and handling luggage for clients.
Maintaining vehicles' fuel levels and cleanliness.
Reporting any accidents and tickets received to your manager and Human Resources immediately.
Logging in all driving times and destinations.
Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice. Answer questions, offer assistance and give out accurate information regarding outlet hours, other hotel services, directions to local attractions or function rooms, car rentals, etc.
Handle all guest requests and questions in an efficient manner.
Adhere to the policies of the Resort as set forth in the Employee Handbook and report any observed violations to Human Resources.
Transport the Exchange Visitors to-and-from campus, Walmart, Laundry, etc. according to the shuttle schedule.
Assist with mail runs, to-and-from the post office.

Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours
ENVIRONMENT: Exposed to all four seasons’ (outdoor weather), will spend some time indoors with controlled temperature, hard indoor and pavement surfaces, outdoor lighting and indoor artificial lighting.
