JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. BASIC FUNCTION: The Beverage Manager oversees the functioning of the department and has full responsibility for every facet of its operation. The Beverage Manager supervises and coordinates the activities of the Beverage staff and implements proper service procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent experience/training
Knowledge of software and accomplish necessary tasks on a computer utilizing Microsoft Office Products Excel, Word, Outlook), SMS Teres POS
- Complete ServSafe Responsible Beverage Service Course – or proof of current certification (i.e. Basset)
- Ability to effectively communicate in the English language
- Interact well with others
- Service oriented
- Meet governmental regulations dealing with the sale of alcoholic beverages
- Meet governmental health requirements
- Ability to transport, handle and/or lift and move 50 lbs. to a height of 5 feet (NOTE: The transporting, moving, lifting and/or stacking of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, kegs)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Attending weekly Conference Planning meetings
- Monitoring overall appearance of the Bar West, Waterfront Bar, Pool Bar, Banquet Bar
- Ordering and keeping inventory on all beverage items
- Preparing liquor checks for functions
- Assisting with the set-up of any functions when needed
- Informing the MOD of any client or staff conflicts or problems
- Keeping staff fully informed of any changes and/or information pertinent to their shift
- Payroll and gratuity distribution for the Beverage Department
- Following upper management guidelines in the overall running of the Beverage Department
- Personnel procedures including the following: interviewing, hiring, overseeing training, discipline and terminations
- Ensuring that the staff maintains the service standards of the Resort
- Delegating authority to accomplish the requirements necessary to fulfill the Beverage Department's needs
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain the highest level of employee/guest relations
- Effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds
- Participate in the M.O.D. program.
- To assist other departments as required
- Will perform additional duties as requested by the Directors of Food and Beverage.
- Adhere to the policies of the Resort as set forth in the Employee Handbook and report any observed violations to Human Resources
- Ability to work any assigned shift/work schedule
ENVIRONMENT: Indoor and outdoor environments, working for as long as a function lasts. Indoor working conditions include walking on a carpeted areas and vinyl areas. Outdoor working conditions include walking on cement and grass.
