JOB SUMMARY: As an Abbey Resort associate, you will have the opportunity to be part of an incredible team at an all service resort situated on the beautiful shores of Geneva Lake. BASIC FUNCTION: To perform the manual tasks associated with the maintenance, construction, and improvement of the resort grounds. This includes the operation of a wide variety of power equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Two years grounds or landscaping experience preferred.
Ability to work effectively with others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operates powered equipment for mowing resort lawn areas.
Waters and fertilizes lawn areas as necessary.
Grades and prepares soil plant beds, lays sod, and plants vegetative material.
Plants and maintains flowers and ornamental plants in plant beds and planters throughout resort.
Performs a variety of labor duties including: String trimming, edging, pruning, raking, shoveling.
Operates mechanical loaders in moving soil, debris, and other materials.
Responsible for snow and ice removal throughout the resort’s grounds.
Responsible for outdoor trash removal.
Assists with installation of promotional, seasonal and holiday decorations throughout inside and outside of resort.
May assist with minor service repairs to equipment.
Report any and all abnormalities on the resort grounds.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

- Comply with policies and procedures.
- Communicate daily with staff and other departments in regard to duties and activities.
- Responsible for department and equipment cleanliness, safety and appearance.
- Required to perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Scheduled hours may vary on business needs and may or may not include holidays, weekends, various shifts, overtime or reduced hours.
ENVIRONMENT: Outdoors, varied terrain, varied all four-season weather conditions.
