Transit Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Bus Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and customer service while providing reliable transportation for passengers, including children and seniors. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive environment for all riders.

Duties

• Safely operate a bus or van, ensuring the safe transport of passengers to their designated locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Follow designated routes and schedules while being flexible to accommodate changes as needed.
• Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle environment for passengers.
• Communicate effectively with passengers, providing assistance as needed, especially for children and seniors.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while promoting safety at all times.
• Assist with boarding and disembarking of passengers, ensuring their safety during transitions.
• Report any incidents or accidents promptly to management.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving.
• Previous experience in bus driving or commercial driving preferred; van driving experience is also beneficial.
• Bilingual skills are a plus, particularly in English, to effectively communicate with diverse passenger groups.
• Experience working with children or in senior care environments is highly desirable.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with passengers of all ages.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure clear instructions are provided.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle unexpected situations professionally.

Pay: $22.79 - $23.90 per hour
