Our curriculum is rooted in the principles of Waldorf education, fostering creativity, critical thinking, social responsibility, and a love for lifelong learning.

Career Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced math tutor to join our school community, specializing in 9th, 10th and 11th grade. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics and the ability to facilitate our established curriculum. They should be capable of guiding students through foundational to advanced topics, with an emphasis on problem-solving and discovery-based learning.

Responsibilities

  • Create a supportive and structured class enviroment conducive to learning, with clear expectations.
  • Follow the established weekly math rhythm and curriculum.
  • Offer consistent guidence to students in helping them develop their mathmatical thinking capacities.
  • Foster a sense of community and supportive peer relationships within the classroom.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues based on mutual respect and open communication.
  • Assess student progress through observation, student work, and assessments. Provide timely feedback to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and follow grading protocol.
  • Communicate student and course progress to parents and administration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathmatics or related field.
  • Previous experience teaching high school mathmatics.
  • Deep understanding of adolescent development and willingness to implement the principles of Waldorf education.
  • An honest striving towards effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Desire to create a meaningful learning environment where students are challenged in a healthy way and can experience goodness, joy, and strength within themselves.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Willingness to be part of a culture that values professional growth and ongoing positive and constructive feedback.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to professionalism.

Schedule

  • In person: Monday-Friday, 1-2 hours daily during the school year.
  • Time off: 1 week for Fall Break, 2 weeks for Winter Break, 1 week for Spring Break, annually.

Application Process

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 per week
