Who We Are:
The purpose of The Academy for Little Children is to provide high quality responsive care and a learning environment for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 10 years old. We offer an educational program based upon developmentally appropriate practices in order to help the children develop a strong foundation and gain a positive attitude toward learning. We focus on the children’s cognitive, socioemotional and physical growth in order to promote an integrated and effective approach to learning. We maintain a warm, loving environment to instill in the children that this is a place where they can trust, be happy and feel secure.
What You Will Do:
As a teacher at The Academy for Little Children, you will join a family of educators dedicated to helping each child succeed. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising and interacting with children
- Cleaning/Sanitizing/Disinfecting
- Maintaining teacher-child ratios
- Diaper changing and potty-training assistance when needed
- Forming partnerships with co-workers and families
- Monthly teacher trainings & ongoing professional development
What You Will Bring:
Everyone has their own unique talents, individual areas of strength, background, and personality, and we strongly encourage our teachers to utilize these traits to help themselves, other teachers – and most importantly, the children – succeed. With that in mind, we do have the following requirements and preferences for applicants:
- At least a High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Experience working with children is a plus, but not required
- Knowledge of the RIELDS is a plus, but not required
