About the Role:
The Academy of Seminole is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Life Planning Coordinator to serve as the Site Coordinator for our Life Planning program. This position plays a vital role in supporting students’ academic, career, and personal growth through comprehensive advising, engaging programming, and strategic partnerships. Key Responsibilities:
Student Engagement & Support
- Provide one-on-one advising to support students’ college, career, and life planning goals
- Guide students through course selection, college applications, and scholarship searches
- Coordinate career exploration experiences like job shadowing and workplace tours
Event Coordination & Facilitation
- Implement Spartan Up! sessions at your site, including ACT prep, life skills workshops, ICAP activities, and guest speakers
- Plan and host Spartan Talks, connecting students with professionals from various industries
- Support the execution of the Freshman Retreat, managing logistics and engagement activities
Workshops & Life Skills Development
- Lead workshops on college readiness, financial literacy, soft skills, and leadership
- Organize career fairs and expos to link students with local businesses and opportunities
- Oversee student involvement in community service and volunteer initiatives
Monitoring & Reporting
- Track and report student progress in Life Planning activities, ensuring goal alignment
- Gather feedback from students and families to ensure continuous program improvement
Post-Secondary Application Support: Senior Capstone
- Facilitate Senior Capstone meetings and assist with college essays, portfolios, and FAFSA completion
- Provide tailored support for scholarship applications and standardized test prep
Additional Life Planning Initiatives:
Coordinator-Level Contributions
- Manage peer mentoring programs and support student-to-student guidance
- Organize job shadowing, internships, and volunteer placements
- Integrate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into workshops and sessions
Collaborate on Director-Level Goals
- Assist in developing district-wide internship and volunteer partnerships
- Support the pursuit of grants and other funding opportunities to grow the program
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Experience working with high school students in educational or counseling settings
- Strong organizational, communication, and event-planning skills
- Knowledge of college admissions, scholarships, and career readiness resources
- Passion for student development and life planning
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
