Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional technical assistance to end-users, ensuring that all desktop systems and applications are functioning optimally. This role requires a strong understanding of various IT concepts, including network administration, software troubleshooting, and help desk operations. The Desktop Support Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our IT infrastructure while delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level support for desktop hardware and software issues, ensuring timely resolution of user-reported problems.
- Assist users with VPN connectivity, firewall configurations, and other network-related issues.
- Utilize ServiceNow for ticket management, documenting all interactions and resolutions accurately.
- Perform routine maintenance on desktop systems, including updates and installations of operating systems and applications.
- Troubleshoot software issues, providing guidance to users on best practices and solutions.
- Manage user accounts within Active Directory, including creation, modification, and deactivation as needed.
- Collaborate with network administration teams to resolve connectivity issues and enhance system performance.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing clear communication and effective solutions.
Experience
- Proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles is essential.
- Familiarity with help desk operations and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with VPN technologies and firewall configurations is a plus.
- Proficiency in software troubleshooting across various platforms (Windows, macOS).
- Understanding of Active Directory management is beneficial.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service.
