Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. This role requires a strong understanding of desktop support processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with users at all levels.
Duties
- Provide first-line technical support for desktop systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Manage computer systems and ensure proper configuration and maintenance of operating systems, primarily Mac OS.
- Utilize ticketing systems such as Remedy and Jira to track and resolve user issues efficiently.
- Analyze network connectivity issues using TCP/IP protocols and assist with network administration tasks.
- Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure seamless delivery of services and support across the organization.
- Document solutions and maintain knowledge base articles to improve future troubleshooting efforts.
- Conduct regular system checks to ensure optimal performance of desktop environments.
- Assist in the deployment of new hardware and software solutions as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles with a focus on computer management.
- Strong knowledge of Mac OS; familiarity with Windows operating systems is a plus.
- Proficient in using ticketing systems such as Remedy and Jira for issue tracking.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and basic network administration skills.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to diagnose technical issues effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with users clearly and professionally.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , ITIL) are preferred but not required.
