Actors Fund Home, a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment, seeks a Full-Time Nursing Home Admissions Coordinator who will be responsible for managing intake and admission process for new residents.
JOB DUTIES
The primary purpose of this position is to develop and expand local and New York hospital referral relationships with the goal of maintaining a full census. Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment of subacute rehabilitation admissions, knowledge of Medicare and secondary insurance benefits, and excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with emphasis on team communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with applicants and families to facilitate admission; provide tours and information; ensure proper documentation is obtained, particularly related to Medicaid applications
Ensure eligibility along with completing all necessary paperwork to remain in compliance with regulations
Provide support for new residents and their families upon residents’ admission
Complete admission agreements along with other paperwork regarding admissions
Maintain electronic charting.
Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility.
Participate in in-service trainings to ensure excellence of services and maintain best practices.
Communicate expeditiously with internal pre-admission team, hospital case managers, and patients / families to facilitate the transfer / admission process.
OUTREACH
- Become involved in the local community aging services network and also the entertainment and performing arts industry in order to facilitate referrals and raise awareness of the Home and the Actors Fund.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High proficiency with High proficiency in ad-hoc report creation on multiple platforms.
A desire to work with, and an affection for the aging and elderly.
An interest in, or a history of employment or education in, the performing arts or entertainment.
Evening and weekend availability is also required, in supporting the operations of a 24-hour facility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree, major in administration, communications or related area of study preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in math and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Excellent customer service, sound judgment, attention to detail.
Experience in a nursing home / assisted living or acute healthcare setting strongly preferred

This is a Full-Time non-exempt position based in The Actors Fund Home in Englewood, NJ.
