About the role
The benefits specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, life short and long term disability and various voluntary benefit programs. Provides customer support on complex employee issues to ensure excellent customer service
What you’ll be doing
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments I the HRIS and with third party benefits administrator and insurance carriers.
- Research and respond to benefits inquiries and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments.
- Ensures outstanding case load is kept to a minimum and responded to timely.
- Assists with new-hire orientation.
- Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
- Assist with benefit projects, program implementation.
- Assist with research and response to all leave-of-absence request and disability paperwork.
- Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications.
About you
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field of study preferred OR the equivalent in experience or other training.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential preferred
- Prior benefits and customer service experience preferred.
