Through a visionary redesign, this remnant of 19th century Saratoga hospitality is reborn, prepared to welcome visitors once again. There are 2 venues on site and banquets. We are happy to have Chef David Burke, a renowned figure in modern American cuisine, as our Culinary Director. He is celebrated for his innovative techniques and exceptional culinary skills. With a successful restaurant empire and numerous accolades, including prestigious awards and television appearances, Burke continues to redefine the culinary landscape through his passion for food and hospitality.
Summary
As a Banquet Chef at Chef David Burke's esteemed establishment, you will be an integral part of our culinary team, responsible for preparing exquisite dishes for various events. This role is vital to our mission of delivering exceptional dining experiences that reflect Chef Burke's innovative approach to American cuisine.
Responsibilities
- Prepare high-quality dishes for banquets and special events, ensuring presentation and taste meet our standards.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to execute menu items efficiently during service periods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Assist in menu planning and development for banquet events, incorporating seasonal ingredients.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety practices.
- Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss menu changes, special requests, and operational improvements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a chef in a high-volume kitchen , or preferred banquet setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food handling.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with catering or large-scale event cooking is highly desirable.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within the kitchen staff.
- Familiarity with inventory control processes is a plus.
- Passion for culinary arts and a willingness to learn new techniques.
