Job Summary:
The Transportation Aide is responsible for safely transporting individuals with neurodivergence, including Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Autism, to and from designated locations. This role ensures that clients arrive safely and on time for appointments, work, and community activities while providing necessary assistance and support during transit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate agency vehicles, including wheelchair-accessible vans, to transport clients.
- Assist passengers with boarding, securing mobility devices, and ensuring seatbelt use.
- Maintain a consistent transportation schedule while adapting to changing needs.
- Perform routine vehicle safety checks and report maintenance issues.
- Communicate effectively with staff and caregivers to coordinate travel plans.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies following established safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL with passenger endorsement preferred.
- Experience in transportation services, especially for individuals with disabilities, is a plus.
- Ability to assist clients with limited mobility safely.
- Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
Compensation:
- Hourly Pay Range: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Drug Testing Policy:
While this role involves the transportation and care of vulnerable individuals, our organization does not require mandatory pre-employment drug testing. However, we reserve the right to conduct drug testing on a case-by-case basis in response to workplace incidents, accidents, or reasonable suspicion.
