Duties
- Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Help with mobility and transportation within the facility, ensuring patient safety at all times.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patient condition as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene protocols.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to implement care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Skills
- Experience or knowledge in medical-surgical care, particularly in inpatient settings.
- Familiarity with pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) practices is a plus.
- Understanding of geriatric care principles to effectively assist elderly patients.
- Background in working within a Level I Trauma Center or teaching hospital preferred.
- Ability to provide care in both outpatient and clinic environments, adapting to various patient needs.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
