Position Overview:
As a HAZMAT Truck Delivery Specialist specializing in Compressed Gas, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of compressed gases to our clients. Your expertise in handling, transporting, and maintaining compressed gas cargo will contribute directly to our commitment to safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load, transport, and unload compressed gas containers onto designated delivery vehicles.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the HAZMAT truck and associated equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations governing the transportation of hazardous materials, including proper labeling, placarding, and documentation.
- Utilize specialized equipment and techniques to secure compressed gas containers, ensuring stability and safety throughout transit.
- Follow established protocols for emergency response and spill containment in accordance with HAZMAT regulations.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping.
- Continuously monitor industry best practices, regulations, and technologies related to compressed gas transportation to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications related to HAZMAT handling and transportation preferred.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL B) with HAZMAT endorsement.
- Proven experience in transporting compressed gases, demonstrating a strong understanding of proper handling techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to HAZMAT transportation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and regulatory authorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle loading and unloading of heavy compressed gas containers.
