The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace’s strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The division leverages a broad array of engineering disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities.
The Communication and Ground Architectures Office (CGAO) within the Integrated Performance Subdivision (IPS) consists of a team dedicated to delivering modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) solutions to answer new and emerging government and commercial customer needs. We conduct modeling and performance assessments of complex communication, network, and ground architectures, scheduling and resource allocation algorithms, and mission management strategies.
Work Model:
This full-time position requires 100% onsite work in El Segundo, CA or Colorado Springs, COS.
What You’ll Be Doing
Act as an integration leader and spokesperson for the Communication and Ground Architectures Office, coordinating across multiple Aerospace program offices to connect customer requirements with Aerospace capabilities and to identify opportunities for new partnerships Lead analysis teams driving recommendations for research, development, and acquisition decisions for legacy and emerging customer communication and ground architectures
Act as a senior technical advisor for department and subdivision-level management in the areas of communication/ground architecture performance and networking/data transport.
Drive the development of staff through training, mentoring, and coaching across a national organization
Coordinate complex technical tasks among customers, managing resources to efficiently staff and execute projects
Develop and present timely and technically accurate presentations and reports that clearly communicate analysis results to technical leads, management, and customers
Advise department strategy and lead innovation across corporate M&S capabilities supporting the analysis of ground architecture performance
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements: Senior Project Leader
B.S degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline from an accredited school
At least 12 years of demonstrated experience leading engineering studies and analysis teams, managing/coordinating complex technical tasks, and translating customer needs into tasks for team members
Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams engaged in efforts involving space-related modeling, communication/ground architectures, data network modeling, scheduling algorithms and logistics, or mission management
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt quickly to change, and to help customers manage ambiguity
Professional experience in one or more of the following specific national security space or intelligence mission areas: communication and ground infrastructures, signals intelligence, geo-spatial intelligence, space surveillance, navigation systems or space protection
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present methods and results effectively in briefings, formal reports, and informal communications
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, Aerospace program offices, and contractors
This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
