Our client, a well-established adjusting and claims management firm, is seeking a skilled Claims Specialist – Business Interruption to join their team. Specializing in claims adjustment for businesses, they are looking for a professional who can manage complex business interruption claims for hotel clients. As a consumer advocate, you will be responsible for ensuring that clients receive the compensation they are entitled to for financial losses resulting from operational disruptions. Position Overview:

As a Claims Specialist – Business Interruption, you will manage and oversee the claims process for business interruption cases, particularly for hotel clients. Your role will involve gathering financial data, developing business models to assess losses, and advocating on behalf of the client to ensure fair compensation. This is a key role that requires a thorough understanding of business interruption coverage, insurance policies, and financial analysis.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Business Interruption Claims: Handle business interruption claims for hotel clients, ensuring all necessary documentation is gathered and processed accurately and on time.
  • Financial Data Collection & Analysis: Work directly with clients to collect financial records, assess their operational losses, and determine the full impact of the business interruption.
  • Develop Business Models: Create detailed business models based on financial data to present a strong case for the client's business interruption claim.
  • Consumer Advocacy: Act as an advocate for hotel owners, ensuring their best interests are represented throughout the claims process and that they receive fair compensation.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Organize and submit all necessary claim documentation to insurers, ensuring the information is complete, accurate, and in compliance with industry regulations.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work with internal teams, financial professionals, and hotel owners to ensure all relevant information is gathered and included in the claims process.
  • Claims Negotiation: Negotiate directly with insurance companies to secure fair and favorable settlements for business interruption claims.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all claims are handled in compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience managing business interruption claims, ideally within the hospitality or hotel industry.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policies, especially related to business interruption and property claims.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to assess and interpret financial data to build strong claims.
  • Ability to represent clients as a consumer advocate, ensuring they receive the best possible outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the hospitality industry, particularly with hotel claims, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with claims management software and financial analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles as they relate to business interruption claims.
