What are the responsibilities and job description for the Korean Speaking Health Insurance Specialist position at The Agency?
Our client, a respected health insurance provider based in Duluth, GA, is seeking a dedicated Korean Speaking Health Insurance Specialist. This individual will play a critical role in supporting clients across Individual Health Plans, Medicare, and Group Plans. The ideal candidate brings a blend of compassion, attention to detail, and healthcare knowledge—ensuring each client receives personalized, accurate support throughout their insurance journey.
Individual Health Plan Support
- Guide clients through Open Enrollment (annually from Nov 1 – Dec 15)
- Assist with plan selection and enrollment processes
- Address service-related issues (billing, claims, PCP changes, etc.)
- Liaise with insurance carriers on behalf of members
- Complete all necessary certifications ahead of enrollment seasons
Medicare Services
- Support both Annual (Oct 15 – Dec 7) and Open Enrollment (Jan 1 – Mar 31) periods
- Maintain AHIP and carrier-specific certifications
- Attend virtual/in-person training and carrier kickoff events
- Educate and assist members with Medicare plan enrollments and service issues
Group Health Plan Administration
- Provide quotes and enroll small group clients
- Support renewals, new hire enrollments, and terminations
- Participate in group client meetings and address ongoing service needs
- Collaborate with carriers and coordinate follow-ups
Additional Client Support
- Help clients apply for Medicare cards and Social Security Retirement Benefits
- Participate in community/client seminars as needed
Candidate Requirements:
- Bilingual fluency in Korean and English (spoken and written)
- Previous experience in health insurance (individual, Medicare, or group plans preferred)
- Highly organized with strong multitasking and communication skills
- Customer-focused with a proactive problem-solving approach
- AHIP certification preferred (or must be obtained within 30 days of employment)
