Job Title: Field Technician
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing dehumidifiers, sump pumps, and related systems in residential properties. The role requires conducting maintenance tasks, performing inspections of crawlspaces and basements, and delivering excellent customer support. This position also includes maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety standards. The role offers the potential to earn commissions based on successful upselling of services or products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive to assigned residential properties to perform technical tasks.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair dehumidifiers, sump pumps, and related systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including filter changes, part replacements, and system cleaning.
- Inspect crawlspaces and basements to identify moisture, mold, or structural issues.
- Provide homeowners with detailed explanations of findings and recommended repairs or maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of tasks performed, including parts used and time spent.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained; report any equipment malfunctions.
- Communicate professionally with customers to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
- Offer and recommend additional products or solutions to homeowners, with the potential to earn commissions.
- Adhere to safety protocols, especially when working in confined spaces.
- Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in HVAC, plumbing, or similar mechanical systems; knowledge of dehumidifiers and sump pumps preferred.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time on-site.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, such as crawlspaces and basements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and customer support skills.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping purposes.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable with frequent bending, crawling, and standing for long periods.
- Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including damp and dusty areas.
Compensation:
- Competitive base salary with the potential to earn commissions through upselling of products and solutions.
Work Environment: This position involves frequent travel to residential properties, working in confined spaces, and exposure to various environmental conditions. A strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction is essential.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
