Title: Upper School/Middle School Afternoon Receptionist
Reports to: Director of Auxiliary Programming
Position Purpose: To promote a positive image of the School while serving as the first point of contact for visitors to campus and individuals contacting the School by phone. to assist in the receiving and delivering of mail and packages to various buildings on campus; to serve as liaison between parents and Middle School After School Study proctors during afternoon pick-up
Hours: Monday - Friday; 3:00pm - 6:30pm during the academic year
Essential Functions:
- Greet and assist visitors, staff and students in a professional and timely manner
- Serve as liaison between parents and Middle School After School Study proctors during afternoon pick up
- Ensure visitors receive and display proper identification while on campus
- Operate the schools multi-line phone system; direct calls to the appropriate party, take messages and provide information and assistance to callers
- Receive and deliver packages and mail to various buildings on campus
- Assist in the collection and delivery of various items left for students at the Front Desk
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum of six months related experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Some college preferred
- Excellent customer service skills required; ability to communicate effectively with various constituents
- Demonstrated competency with basic internet and word processing spreadsheet applications
Physical Demands:
- Adequate physical mobility, dexterity, strength, and endurance to actively supervise an office environment
- Ability to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 20 lbs. from ground level and to carry them for short distances
- Ability to frequently stand and walk for limited periods of time, and work at a desk and computer screen for extended periods of time
- Ability to regularly perform the repetitive movement of fingers and hands for keyboarding
- Ability to handle interruptions and work in a busy, often distracting, environment.
