Job Summary

The Retail Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily dispensary operations, ensuring an exceptional customer experience, and supporting the management team in driving sales, compliance, and team development. This role is ideal for a proactive and experienced retail leader who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

The Retail Supervisor serves as a key support to store leadership, helping to train, coach, and develop the dispensary team while maintaining compliance with state and local regulations. They will set the tone for professionalism, efficiency, and service excellence, ensuring The Agriculturist remains a destination for high-quality cannabis and knowledgeable service.

ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Budtenders, fostering a culture of customer service excellence and continuous learning.
  • Assist in training employees on product knowledge, compliance, and sales techniques to enhance the customer experience.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to ensure employees meet performance expectations.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and inclusive work environment in alignment with The Agriculturist’s values.

Operations & Compliance

  • Support the daily execution of dispensary operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory management.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all state and local cannabis regulations, maintaining compliance in all retail transactions and reporting.
  • Uphold and enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring all employees follow safety and security protocols.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate POS system usage, transaction reconciliation, and cash handling.

Customer Experience & Sales

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring customers receive personalized recommendations and education on cannabis products.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive retail environment, addressing customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Assist in driving sales through effective merchandising, promotions, and product knowledge.
  • Support marketing initiatives and community engagement efforts to promote The Agriculturist’s brand and mission.

Store Performance & Organization

  • Monitor and improve store efficiency by identifying operational challenges and implementing solutions.
  • Maintain a well-organized and visually appealing store, ensuring product displays, signage, and inventory are stocked and compliant.
  • Assist in performance tracking, providing insights and recommendations to management based on sales trends and team performance.
  • Manage scheduling and staffing needs to maintain coverage and service standards.

Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age and able to pass a background check per state requirements.
  • 2 years of experience in retail, hospitality, or a customer-facing role, preferably in the cannabis industry.
  • Strong leadership experience, with a track record of coaching and developing employees.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume retail setting.
  • Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, and inventory management.
  • Basic knowledge of cannabis products, regulations, and consumption methods (training provided).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods.
